The Cambridge IGCSE offers a flexible and stimulating curriculum, supported with excellent resources and training for HDE teachers while helping improve performance for students by developing skills in creative thinking, investigation and problem solving. It is the perfect springboard to advanced study and is part of our everyday curriculum.
With a technology infused curriculum, HDE strives to provide our students with opportunities to enhance and expand their learning experiences with advanced tools such as SMART Boards, Promethean Boards, Mimio’s, Mobi’s, Interactive clickers, computer labs, iPads, Edmodo, document viewers, an E-lab and opportunities to BYOD (Bring Your Own Device).
Walk through the doors of HDE and you will immediately feel the close knit community that binds us all together whether student, teacher, parent, administrator or staff. A very active PTA and close involvement with the Pinecrest and Palmetto Bay communities also contribute to our success. Plus, we bring a strong offering for every child with self contained gifted classes for kindergarten through fifth grades, special education programs, a No Place for Hate anti-bullying program and more.
We not only encourage kindess towards peers, but also towards our planet with eco-friendly intiatives that teach our students responsibility. Our Green Patrol Team collects all recycleables and helps keep our school energy efficient. The PTA’s Beautification Commitee works to obtain funds for lush greenery, plants and trees to provide healthier, clean-air green spaces and garden areas. Under the guidance of our teachers, students participate in planting, tending and harvesting a garden each year.
